Improving health care access for all Ghanaians
Leadership
Thank you for your unwavering support and partnership with CHAG over the years. We are pleased to share our 2023 journey, highlighting our successes and challenges in serving nearly 10 million Ghanaians in remote areas.
2023 brought significant challenges, but it also unveiled remarkable capabilities. Notably, our network achieved its best Institutional Maternal Mortality ratio of 102 per 100,000 live births. Neonatal mortality declined by 11.69% to 6.8 per 1,000 live births. Stillbirth rate dropped by 4.83% to 13.8 per 1,000 live births.
In 2023, our network recorded 6,260,339 OPD attendances, 549,219 patient admissions, and conducted 98,578 surgeries.

- Led by chairman, Prof Roger Atinga, the Board of Trustees provides the high-level strategic vision for the CHAG network. They are responsible for ensuring every program and initiative aligns with Ghana's national Universal Health Coverage roadmap, championing our core mission to serve remote and underserved communities.
- Led by the Executive Director, the CHAG Secretariat serves as the central operational arm of our network. Together with his team, Dr. Yeboah turns Board strategy into measurable impact—overseeing programs, guiding performance, and ensuring accountability. Their leadership delivers our everyday operations.

Our Health Research Unit, established five years ago, aims to address knowledge gaps to improve health systems. We mine insights from amassed data, document good practices, and collaborate with external research institutions.
Our Institutional Review Board (IRB) was established in 2018 to provide ethical clearance for all research. In 2023, it saw a 1300% increase in protocols, approving 108 studies, including biomedical and social research.
Our annual reports provide full transparency on our network's performance. They detail key service delivery stats, like OPD visits, and track vital health indicators, such as our best-ever Maternal Mortality Ratio
